Frequently asked questions
What does StackBrief deliver every day?
A short brief of what may affect the technologies in your stack. Each item includes an action: Maintain, Update or explore, or Critical change. If nothing relevant appeared, you see a quiet day in the dashboard (and on Telegram, if connected). This is not a guarantee of coverage across every possible source.
Does this replace Dependabot or Snyk?
No. The focus is stack stability: breaking changes, deprecations, and releases relevant to your technologies, with a suggested action. It complements CVE scanners; it does not replace them.
Do I need to connect GitHub?
No. With GitHub we read package.json and the lockfile at the repo root and compare against your project versions. The App permission includes content read; the product only requests those manifests. Without GitHub, you pick technologies by hand (including AI presets). On the manual path, filtering is by technology name, not installed version.
Can I monitor multiple projects on one account?
Today each account has one stack. If you manage several clients, use the account on the main project or pick shared technologies manually. Multi-stack per account is not available yet.
How does version comparison work?
When GitHub is synced, the engine crosses updates with your project versions. On the manual path, the brief uses the technologies you marked, without version precision until you connect a repo.
What does the GitHub integration access?
Repository metadata. The App permission includes content read; the product only requests package.json and the npm or pnpm lockfile at the root. You can revoke the App on GitHub anytime.
Where do I receive the brief?
In the web dashboard after the overnight run. Optionally on Telegram. There is also a weekly email digest you can turn off under Channels.
Is this an AI news feed?
No. If you follow AI libs and APIs at work, add those technologies to your manual stack and get relevant changes. We do not deliver a generic newsletter or daily hype.
How much does it cost and how do I start?

How do privacy and data deletion work?
We store email, stack, optional integrations (GitHub App, Telegram), billing, and support messages to provide the service. We use cloud, payment, and AI subprocessors (details on the Privacy page). Delete your account under Account.
How do I contact support?
If something failed in the app, billing, or account deletion, use the Support page on the site. We reply by email.
